Teenage Love Story CtrlAltDlt
They started out as a teenage love story,
He made her swoon and swept her off her feet,
Every time he would text “I love you” and “You’re so sweet”
And he would take her to the lake,
And every now and then they’d shake,
Then he’d take her back to bake,
They’re gingerbread houses,
She would make silent wishes that one day that would be them,
Living in a house of bread amongst the gingerbread men.
But love doesn’t last forever
More often than not fornever,
But it’s okay, she’s holding strong
It’s what she wanted all along!
So she swore off energy drinks and let her veins rejuvinate,
Then she drank from her goblet the sweet juice she was missin’
That coursed through her body and overtook her system,
Finally she could be herself, finally she was whole again.
And her friends rejoiced with pride, and the munchkin livin’ nearby
Jumped up and down and chattered how she was a bird
Reclaiming her feather, and the California Girl sighed
And patted her on the back, and told jokes and tales around the fire
Of mall’s and movies and sourjacks!
And the girl who was once so in love with the boy,
Could truthfully laugh and fill it with joy,
Until the air leaves her lungs completely,
Now she can arrange her words so neatly,
She could drink her cappuccino and dream of things that never were,
But in the end she’s happy, just fine really, wishin’ on that star.
